At that point, the then 16-year-old Berkley Bedell began selling hand-tied flies to fishing tackle shops local to Spirit Lake in Iowa. Over 80 years later and Berkley's passion still remains. The company has always put a lot of emphasis on research and development, and the effectiveness of their lures is a testament to this.
